The Gaar House Museum and Farm is celebrating 50 years as one of Wayne County’s Historic House Museums.
Come out to the farm on Sunday September 29th from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
Walk around the house, its barns and out buildings.
Take a tour of one of the most significant Victorian Landmarks in the mid-West, the Abram Gaar House.
Hosted by these three 501c.3 non-profit organizations: Agnes and Abram Gaar Foundation, Richmond Columbian Properties, William G. Scott house, Indiana Landmarks
This 1876 Second Empire home was designed by Architect John Hasecoster is individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was restored by Abram Gaar’s great-granddaughter Joanna Mikesell and has been featured in several publications. All the original interior East Lake style furnishings are preserved in their original setting.
Walking on the property is free. To tour the house there is an admission fee of $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 18 years and under payable at the door. Parking is available in the field off Pleasant View Road. Help us celebrate this grand old home and farm and experience farm life in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
