MUSEUMS AND ATTRACTIONS
The James Dean Museum in Fairmount houses Jimmy’s motorcycles, car, the Winslow farm tractor, and a plethora of James Dean’s belongings that have never before been displayed. The Quilters Hall of Fame in Marion is a nonprofit organization that celebrates the art of quilting. It documents the lives of those who have made outstanding contributions through exhibitions, education, publications, research, collections, and documentation. The organization is international in scope, encompassing the United States and the United Kingdom.
The Obadiah Jones Cabin is the first log cabin in Jonesboro, purchased by Obadiah Jones in 1834 and is the site of the annual Old Settlers’ Day Festival. Visitors can step inside to experience a glimpse of pioneer life. The Marion Public Library houses a large display of artifacts memorabilia from the history of Grant County. Exhibits include a 1952 Crosley Super Sport car, which was produced in Marion. The fascinating history of Jonesboro is on display each weekend at the Jonesboro Historical Society Museum. The museum highlights the town’s founding, growth, and local families through artifacts, photographs, and documents. Exhibits also showcase the community’s role in early industry, education, and daily life, giving visitors a closer look at the heritage of this Grant County town.

The Hostess House is a beautifully restored historical house that is on the National Historic Register. Luncheon menu includes a selection of soups, sandwiches, sides, salads, and specialties. Scrumptious desserts include their famous homemade pies, apple dumplings, and a variety of desserts. Visit Peggy’s Boutique on the second floor to shop for wonderful and unique gifts.

Gas City Brewing is a locally-owned brewery in the heart of Gas City where visitors can enjoy a rotating selection of beers on tap, including IPAs, stouts, and seasonal specialties, all brewed with care. The welcoming atmosphere makes it a favorite spot to relax with friends or meet new ones over a pint. Bad Dad Brewing is Grant County’s first nanobrewery, located in Fairmount, and offering beers on tap including pale ales, browns, blondes, and citrus IPAs. Guests can enjoy a pint, flight, or growler to go, along with appetizers and brick oven pizza made from scratch with fresh toppings.
Ivanhoe’s is famous for their menu of more than 100 milkshakes and 100 sundaes. Milk and Honey Coffee Co. is a locally owned coffee shop in Converse, known for roasting its own beans in-house for the freshest flavor. More than just a place to grab a cup, it’s a welcoming spot where friends gather.
