Come spend an evening exploring Columbus’ historic City Cemetery (739 22nd Street) at Talking Tombstones 2026! Hosted by the Bartholomew County Historical Society, and in partnership with the Columbus Parks & Recreation Department, the evening will feature actors sharing the stories of some of Columbus’ most notable residents who were laid to rest in City Cemetery. There will be over 20 stations to visit at your own pace. It will be a fun and entertaining evening of local history – don’t miss this opportunity to experience the stories of Mary Kitzinger, Charles Crump, Nancy Hart Pence, and Dr. William Hogue, and many more.
Refreshments provided by Grin and Cluck will be available for purchase. Cemetery entries are at 16th and 19th streets.
Tickets are available for purchase in advance on Eventbrite, at the Bartholomew County Historical Society Museum (524 3rd Street), Columbus Visitors Center (506 5th Street), and Viewpoint Books (548 Washington Street), or at City Cemetery the night of May 8th. Tickets are $15.00 in advance, $20 night of the event, 5 and under free. Children 16 and under require a chaperone.
Talking Tombstones is a fundraiser for the Bartholomew County Historical Society and Columbus Parks Foundation, and is supported by a grant from Visit Columbus.
