You’ll never be bored in Pulaski County! This lively spot has something going on just about every month of the year.
One of July’s big events is the Northern Indiana Power From the Past summer show, featuring tractors and other farm implements from days gone by. Watch them in dynamic displays as they demonstrate their functions and visit the stationary exhibits where you can explore the finer points of this machinery. Enjoy the popular horse-pull and the classic car cruise-in along with a flea market, food vendors, music and dancing.

You can shop at the Pulaski County Farmers’ Market from 9 a.m. to 12 noon every Saturday all summer long, but August is when Medaryville, nicknamed “Tater Town,” holds its annual Potato Fest to celebrate its history of being home to generations of potato farmers. Expect to find food trucks, craft vendors, bouncers and games for children, live music and a car show hosted by the Head Hunters Car Club.
Plan your Labor Day weekend around the family-friendly Monterey Days Festival. Each day will be filled with non-stop activities that range from a parade, music and entertainment to games, contests (Kiss the Pig, anyone?) and demonstrations. Children will be able to engage in a pedal tractor pull and turtle and frog races, while everyone will get a kick out of the Firemens’ Waterball Challenge.
Come Sept. 13, head for the fun-packed Pulaski County Riverfest in Winamac. Grab breakfast — fresh fruit and homemade baked goods — at the Farmers Market. Then take part in a sidewalk-chalking contest, bicycle parade, pickleball tournament and Riverball Race.

Local merchants will host sidewalk sales, and vendors selling unusual crafts and other items will be on hand. Face-painting and games will delight the children, and everyone will appreciate the live music and giveaways.
The Main Street Winamac Tri-Tender Triathlon will also be held on this day. Bike, run and kayak your way to a tenderloin feast at the end.
Then on Sept. 19-21, the Francisville Fall Festival kicks off. New this year is the “Never Forget: 9/11 Mobile Exhibit.” Other activities include a parade, live music, bingo, 5K walk/run, a golf outing, corn-hole tournament and automobile show. Eat free popcorn, dine out on home-cooked meals provided by local organizations, and finish off your meal with a cake from the baking contest and auction. Each day will end with a fireworks display.
